The newcomer of the electric-auto industry which builds a 1-billion-dollar plant in Nevada is putting together a reputable team to compete with the big boys.

The Chinese-backed electric maker Faraday Future has announced it recruited Marco Mattiacci as company’s Global Chief Brand & Commercial Officer, overseeing areas such as marketing, communications, distribution, sales and customer experience. Furthermore, he will also sit on key strategy, product, design, and HR committees, the automaker said in a statement.

Mattiacci has a vast experience within the automotive world, as he served as President & CEO of Ferrari Asia Pacific from 2006 to 2010, for him to move afterwards to Ferrari North America with the same responsibilities from 2010 to 2014. Most recently, Mattiacci was appointed Managing Director and Team Principal of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 racing team, succeeding Stefano Domenicali in 2014.

Faraday Future has lately drawn many other top auto managers. As an example, it hired former Tesla executive James Chen in May as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Deputy General Counsel. But Faraday also lured employees from GM, Ford and BMW.

The mysterious California-based company, supported by the Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting, has broken grounds in April on the 1-billion-dollar plant in Nevada, aiming to build its first car in a couple of years. Furthermore, it recently applied for three manufacturer plates to test self-driving vehicles in Michigan.
