Friday morning update from Road America

Good morning! It is only 63 degrees here in beautiful Sheboygan County at Road America for the Kohler Grand Prix. Weather should be mild with no chance of rain today. Many structural changes have been made at the track since the Indycars were last here in 2007. No changes to the race track Itself, however.

Sebastien Bourdais is the only driver is this weekend's race that has won an IndyCar race here at Road America. He won here in 2007 and finished that season winning his 4th Championship driving for Newman Haas Racing.

The hot news is whether Josef Newgarden will be able to continue his race to the championship this weekend. After fracturing his clavicle and his right hand 2 weeks ago in the rain shortened race at Texas Motor Speedway, he is going to practice today and then the medical team will evaluate his conditions and decide if he can race on Sunday. He sits currently 4th in the points.

First IndyCar practice is at 11 am today. Will update you as the day progresses.
