McMurray Thinks NASCAR Should Shorten Cup Races To 2.5 Hours
Jamie McMurray wants races shortened |
Driver Jamie McMurray said if he were campaigning to run NASCAR, he would "shorten all the races to two and a half hours," according to a Q&A with Jeff Gluck of USA TODAY. McMurray: "Most people would agree with that. I hope at some point, they do shorten the races. I'm all about tradition; however, we live in a different world than we did 25 or 30 years ago. I just think people view races in a different way now. Four hours of trying to get someone's attention is too long. I know there are a lot of other obstacles to overcome, but shorter races would be a really good step."
When asked hypothetically which short track he would add to the Sprint Cup Series schedule, McMurray said, "I would add North Wilkesboro. … I never heard anyone say anything bad about that place." USA TODAY
