Honda Toronto GP draws big crowd (Update)
UPDATE Crowds estimated at more than 100,000 attended Honda Indy Toronto and the "three-day race festival" surrounding competition. Honda Indy Toronto President Jeff Atkinson said that a "rain-free weekend combined with an expanded roster of events and attractions and a Fan Friday promotion … made for a successful weekend in the view of organizers." Will Power won the street-course race, now in its 30th year of existence and seventh year under promoter/operator Green Savoree. Toronto Sun
07/17/16 We tried to get an official attendance figure for today's Honda GP of Toronto IndyCar race but was told that race promoter Savoree/Green does not release the number. The person we talked to thought this was the best one yet, meaning over the last 7 years, this year had the best attendance since Savoree/Green took over. There were a lot of people in the General Admission areas too. The only draw back with a GA ticket was there had no monitors to follow the race. Lucille Dust reporting live from Toronto
