IMSA 2017 announcements set for Road America

The 2017 schedules for IMSA’s top series, as well as future platform plans will be announced Friday morning at Road America, the sanctioning body confirmed today.

Schedules for the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Mazda Prototype Lites Presented by Cooper Tires and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama will be confirmed at an announcement in victory lane at 11:45 a.m. CT.

IMSA will also reveal details on future platforms, likely confirming GT4 for the Continental Tire Challenge next year, the possibility of TCR joining the series in the medium-term and the placement of LMP3 within one of its championships.

In terms of the WeatherTech Championship schedule, all existing circuits are expected to remain on the calendar next year, but with at least two events featuring new dates.
