2017 British Formula 3 calendar unveiled

The calendar for the 2017 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship has been announced today (September 19) with 24 races scheduled across eight rounds, seven of which will be co-headlining events alongside the British GT Championship, including a return to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Following the successful introduction of the Tatuus-Cosworth car, which has seen BRDC British F3 become the perfect stepping stone for drivers from FIA Formula 4 championships to European F3 and the GP3 Series, the 2017 calendar sees the category once again visit some of the finest and most challenging circuits in Europe.

The season runs from April to September and gets underway at Oulton Park on Easter Bank Holiday weekend before taking in rounds at Rockingham, Silverstone, Spa, Brands Hatch and two visits to Snetterton before concluding at Donington Park.

Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of BRDC British Formula 3 promoters MSV, said: "It has been really exciting to see British F3 not just back but providing the best value single seater racing in the world. With another great calendar alongside British GT, 2017 is sure to see full grids and more stars of the future in the spotlight."

BRDC British F3’s familiar weekend format will continue next year, with qualifying and one race on the first day of the meeting followed by two races on the second day.
