Super Soft tires favored for Austin

Formula 1 supplier Pirelli has revealed the tyre selections for the United States Grand Prix, with the red-marked Super Soft rubber favored over the yellow-marked Soft and white-marked Medium.

All drivers bar the Manor pair will take a majority of the Super Soft tyre to the Circuit of the Americas, with Force India's Sergio Perez leading the way on eight sets, and most others taking seven sets.

Soft selections range from two sets to five, with Medium selections from one set to five.

For 2016, each driver receives 13 dry-weather sets per Grand Prix, with Pirelli choosing two sets for the race (only one of which must be used), and a set of the softest compound, only for use in Q3.

Drivers are free to select any combination of the chosen compounds for the other 10 sets.

For the United States, Pirelli has allocated a set of Softs and Mediums for the race.
