MotoGP eliminates more aero tricks
Earlier in the season the Commission decided to ban the use of controversial aerodynamic wings, commonly known as winglets, for next season, and it has now moved to clamp down further.
The design of a bike's fairing and front mudguard must be submitted to MotoGP's Technical Director for homologation prior to next year's season-opener at Qatar.
Thereafter, "only one upgrade of the fairing and one upgrade of the front mudguard is permitted in that season."
It was clarified that this upgrade will apply per rider, and not per manufacturer.
In a further move for 2018, the leathers used by riders must be fitted with an approved inflatable airbag device, a proposal which has been approved in the interests of safety.
