Onroak Automotive acquires Crawford Motorsport Division
Onroak Automotive will now operate directly from the North Carolina based factory for Ligier LMP2, DPi, LMP3 and CN activities in North America.
Onroak Automotive will also continue to support and invest in Crawford’s Motorsport activities with the Crawford F4 program and USF4 championship.
Onroak Automotive will benefit from more than 40 years of Crawford’s Motorsport experience and performance in racing. After years of proven experience in the motorsports world, building winning race cars, components, and bodywork for customers, Max and Jan Crawford and their dedicated team will manage the operations of Onroak Automotive activities in North America.
Together with Onroak Automotive North American Market Manager, Ethan Bregman, this new development will provide existing and future North American customers with an experienced and knowledgeable team that supplies everything from high-performance composite bodywork, spare parts, custom fabrication, design, development and testing through to complete race car builds from single seaters to sport-prototypes.
From 2017, dedicated engineers and mechanics from Onroak Automotive in Denver will be supporting the US F4 championship and all of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship events for LMP2 and DPi alongside all of the events of the new IMSA Prototype Challenge for LMP3.
Jacques Nicolet, Onroak Automotive CEO: “We are very excited about this new development for Onroak Automotive. Since 2014, we’ve been looking for the right place but mostly the right people to base permanently our activity in the USA. Not only are Max and Jan wonderful people, but we also share the same passion and ideas about motorsport and its development in the USA. With their expertise and the dedicated team they’ve been working with for many years, Onroak Automotive will pursue the development of the existing Crawford F4 program in the USA and will establish its sales and support services for its range of sport-prototypes for the North American market. We all look forward to the first official IMSA test in Daytona on November 15th with our new Ligier JS P217 to work all together for next year."
Max Crawford, Onroak Automotive N.A. General Manager: “Mine and Jan’s background in racing, has been designing, manufacturing, and developing race cars and components for the North American market, and we feel extremely privileged to be invited to join the Onroak Automotive family’s expansion in North America. Jacques and Pierre’s vision for the future, with the growth of Onroak Automotive, and their commitment to bring the Ligier brand of cars to America is a very exciting time for both of us personally, and our team."
