2017 Schedule Released for F1600, F2000 and Atlantic Championships
“Our 2017 schedule combines a number of big well-attended events, with great tracks and lots of track time, which are core to our founding principles," commented Series co-owners Robert Wright and Al Guibord.
FRP started operations with F2000 in 2006, added F1600 in 2011, the Atlantic Championship Series in 2012, and is now entering its 12th season.
Among the new dates is the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway June 8-11, partnering with SVRA.
The season debut, with Pirelli World Challenge, will be April 28-30 at Virginia International Raceway; and for the second year in a row, FRP is partnering with Trans-Am, this time at New Jersey Motorsports Park for a well attended season-finale weekend October 6-8.
“FRP has some very exciting things happening in 2017, partnering on some big spectator events, while also keeping costs down and allowing as much track time as possible provides the kind of events our competitors are asking for," Wright and Guibord added.
There are also two dates at the popular and technical Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, including a two-day weekend in May and FRP’s traditional three-day weekend, June 30 – July 2; followed by Pittsburgh International Race Complex in late July and Summit Point August 25-27.
F1600 will again be offered a 21-race season comprised of seven triple-headers, while F2000 and Atlantic will see their traditional double-race weekend format, with each Series featuring 14 races.
