Rain delays start of Texas Sprint Cup race (Update)

UPDATE The rain delayed race is expected to start shortly after 7:00 PM ET. Rain is back in the forecast around 10:00 PM. The race will be shown on NBCSN.

11/06/16 The second race in the Round of 8 of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is under delay with rain hitting Texas Motor Speedway and surrounding areas.

The AAA Texas 500's green flag was scheduled for 2:04 p.m. ET (NBC, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Air Titans continue to dry the 1.5-mile track.

Once the track is dried, Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon will lead the field to green after scoring his third Sprint Cup Series career pole during Friday's Coors Light Pole Qualifying.

Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series contender Joey Logano will line up alongside Dillon in his No. 22 Team Penske Ford.
