Buemi quickest in FP2 in Morocco
The Renault e.dams driver set a best time of 1:20.599s, which is over a second faster than the pole position time for the WTCC race at the track earlier this year.
The top six all went under the WTCC pole mark. Felix Rosenqvist was second fastest for Mahindra, Jean-Eric Vergne third for TECHEETAH, Oliver Turvey fourth for NEXTEV, Loic Duval sixth for Faraday Future Dragon Racing and Daniel Abt sixth for Abt Schaeffler.
The session ended early after Sam Bird had a big crash at Turn 8. The Brit lost control of his DS Virgin Racing car and slammed into the barrier, causing significant damage to his car. He was unharmed, but the red flag was thrown as his car was recovered.
This prevented a number of drivers from trying a 200kw qualification simulation, including Nico Prost, who was well out of position in 19th for Renault e.dams.
Qualifying for the race takes place at 12pm (GMT) this afternoon.
