Theodore Racing Launches Innovative Partnership With The Macao Government Tourism Office
Initiated by Theodore Racing Team Owner Teddy Yip Jr., this unique partnership centers on global travel guru and Beautiful Destinations Founder, Jeremy Jauncey, and his BD content creation team, discovering the hidden treasures of Macao and sharing their stories via the power of social media.
Theodore Racing was founded in the 1970’s by Hong Kong businessman Teddy Yip Sr. who developed a love affair with both motorsport and the small island of Macao. Yip Sr’s Macao business ventures grew rapidly and he soon became instrumental in promoting Macao’s tourism and developing infrastructure including casinos, hotels, and the HK-Macao hydrofoil service. He went a step further and used his influence across Macao to help develop and promote its annual Grand Prix which has since become an internationally recognized motorsports event, earning Yip Sr the nickname ‘Mr Macao Grand Prix’.
Yip’s Theodore Racing team grew far beyond expectation and in 1978, Theodore Racing became the first and only Chinese constructor to compete in Formula One, an accolade held to this day.
Following a 21-year hiatus, Yip Jr. revived his father’s legendary team with a victorious return to the Macao F3 Grand Prix in 2013, a race which the marque has now won a record eight times.
Like his father, Yip Jr’s passion for both motorsport and Macao has led him to spearhead this exciting partnership between his legendary race team, the MGTO and Beautiful Destinations. The trio of iconic Theodore Racing liveried F3 cars will display the “Experience Macao, your own style" branding during the 2016 Macao Grand Prix on 19th / 20th November 2016 and the BD content creators will shoot captivating content of Macao, through the eyes of the race team.
