Preview of ‘No Regrets – The 2016 Mercedes AMG DTM Story’
The 2016 DTM season was full of excitement and provided plenty of spectacular racing action. However, it was also characterized by many moving scenes and gripping interchanges between all those involved, and it is precisely these aspects that form the focus of the documentary ‘No Regrets – The 2016 Mercedes-AMG DTM Story' which will premiere on Sunday, December 25th, 2016 at 8:10 am on the n-tv news channel.
Last season, a camera crew followed the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team around for a whole year for the first time ever in the history of the racing series. As they did so, the film makers captured the emotional ups and downs of the past DTM year, thus providing an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team.
"The film is amazing," said Mercedes-AMG DTM driver Robert Wickens. "It succeeded in capturing the emotional ups and downs of the DTM and our season very well. It showed what we've been through, and how we responded. It was a beautiful story, and I would never have thought I would one day feature in such a movie."
The film's focus, however, is not on the racing action but on the people who live and shape the sport. Visits to the drivers' homes, interviews with friends and relatives – the 90-minute documentary has got a little bit of everything. The world premiere of the film documentary took place on 8th December at the UFA Palace in Stuttgart before an audience composed of drivers and VIP guests.
"There were many highlights, but for me it was the way we showed the world the friendship that exists within the team. There are certainly very few people who know how closely we drivers work together in our team. I've never experienced it to this extent before."
