The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has revealed the 60-car entry list for the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe.
There will be six entries in the premier LMP1 class – two from Porsche, three from Toyota and one from the independent ByKolles team. Porsche drivers Marc Lieb, Neel Jani and Romain Dumas are the defending winners of the event.
Audi will not compete at Le Mans after previously announcing the manufacturer was shifting its focus to Formula E.
Toyota, who last year came within one lap of winning the event, is fielding a third entry specifically for Le Mans.
In LMP2 there will be an event high 25 entrants, three more than the 2016 season. Signatech Alpine drivers Gustavo Menezes, Nicolas Lapierre and Stephane Richelmi are the defending class winners.
The GTE Pro class will feature 13 entries, including four from the defending class winning Chip Ganassi Racing team. Joey Hand, Sebastian Bourdais and Dirk Muller will all return to defend their GTE Pro class victory with Ganassi.
In addition to the Ford squad, there will be two Porsches, two Aston Martins, two Chevrolets and three Ferraris.
In GTE Am there are 16 entries. Bill Sweedler, Townsend Bell and Jeff Segal are the defending GTE Am class winners.
