New track layout revealed for Berlin ePrix

Tickets are now back on sale for the Berlin ePrix double-header on June 10 and 11 – with the all-electric Formula E cars using a modified configuration of the track at Tempelhof Airport.

The Berlin ePrix – round seven and eight of the 2016/17 FIA Formula E Championship – returns to the original location used in the inaugural season on a redesigned version of the circuit. The drivers will navigate a 2.25km track on the apron section of the historic Tempelhof Airport.

The new-look track features 10 corners. It runs in the same anti-clockwise direction as the original layout, but has been completely re-profiled to compliment the faster, more efficient Formula E cars of Season 3.

Daniel Abt, ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport driver, said: For us as a German team with German partners, and me as a German driver, it is great news that we will have two home races this season. It’s no secret that I loved the track around Karl-Marx-Allee a lot. But now that I have seen the new Tempelhof layout, I can’t wait to get there. The fans will love the unique setting that brings everyone so close to the action and us drivers. The track is perfect for great racing and a lot of overtaking. I’m looking forward to meeting my home crowd. We will put on a great 48-hour Formula E party for the fans in Berlin."

Grandstand tickets for each day cost just €49, with a €10 discount for senior citizens (aged-60 and above) and students. Tickets for children are half price at just €24.50. Fans wishing to attend both race days and watch from a grandstand can purchase a discounted weekend ticket at €79.

General admission standing access to the Tempelhof Airport circuit and Allianz eVillage cost just €5 per race for adults. Children accompanying paying adults can get a ticket for free.

Fans can also get behind the scenes and see teams prepare for the race with a pitlane walk ticket for just €20 (€10 for children). Observe the teams and drivers as they prepare and fine-tune their cars as they get ready to head to the grid.

Fans who had already purchased tickets for the Karl-Marx-Allee circuit will be contacted by Ticketmaster regarding their weekend ticket upgrade for the new venue. If you have any questions regarding your tickets, please email – kundenservice@ticketmaster.de
