Gil Martin Leaves Richard Childress Racing

Veteran crew chief Gil Martin has parted ways with Richard Childress Racing according to a report by Motorsport.com.

Martin, who had been working as the XFINITY Series manager for RCR, had been with the organization since 2001. During his time at RCR he worked with a number of different drivers, including Kevin Harvick, Robby Gordon and Clint Bowyer, in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Between the NASCAR Cup Series and XFINITY Series, Martin has 24 victories on his resume.

RCR has also cut ties with formula Formula One racing engineer Michael Coughlan. He previously worked for McLaren and Williams in Formula One before working for Michael Waltrip Racing and then RCR.
