Pocono Raceway is "initiating a new incentive for fans this year — a 'worry-free weather guarantee,'" according to Zach Sturniolo of the POCONO RECORD.

If any NASCAR or IndyCar race is "postponed due to weather, fans who purchase their tickets directly through PoconoRaceway.com who cannot attend the postponed event will be eligible for a full refund minus taxes and fees."

Verizon IndyCar Series VP/Communications Curt Cavin said, "I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes the industry standard."

NASCAR driver Brendan Gaughan added, "I hope people realize how much money it may cost the speedway. That is a lot of money out of the speedway's pocket just to say, 'We're going to give you that money back if you don't make that race on Monday.' And that's impressive for a track to say that they are willing to do that." POCONO RECORD

The move comes after both NASCAR races at Pocono were impacted by rain last year. Last year's lone IndyCar race at the track also was postponed due to rain THE DAILY.
