New Champ Car track info

AutoRacing1.com had a sneak peek at the preliminary design of the Ansan, South Korea purpose built track in a park down by the waterfront. The track, designed by D3 Motorsports, resembles Long Beach in many ways, especially the main straight, but runs counterclockwise instead. The track is as much as 60 feet wide, and a minimum of 40 feet wide. The track is reported to be 2.4 miles long. The Metro stop is 4 blocks away to take fans to and from the airport and downtown Seoul. The Rio track in Brazil is also designed. The race will be downtown if it happens in Rio. The other option of course is Interlagos, which we have talked about previously, that Emerson Fittipaldi is trying to make happen. We spoke to Emmo, who is here in Mexico, and he is hopeful that the Interlagos race could happen, but scheduling is the issue now. He is meeting with Kevin Kalkhoven tonight over dinner. Mark C.
