Sean Corr Returns to Empire Racing Group Ford at Talladega
Sean Corr Will Race the Empire Racing Group No. 46 Ford Friday at Talladega |
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Empire Racing Group (ERG), a development team for Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) will enter Sean Corr in Friday's ARCA General Tire 200 at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. This will be Corr's second race of the 2017 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season.
Corr will be behind the wheel of the No. 46 NESCO Ford with the message, "Support Our Troops" on the hood. Corr returns to the team after earning an 11th-place finish at the season-opening race at the Daytona International Speedway. Corr has five previous starts at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in ARCA competition, with a best finish of seventh last year.
Crew Chief Mike "Grumpy" Cheek is looking forward to Friday's race.
"Sean was fast at Daytona," said Cheek. "We feel that we have another fast car for him here at Talladega. Sean is a smart driver who knows what it takes to be around the end of these plate races. We are all confident in his experience and we're racing for the win. It's tough competition, but we feel good about Friday."
Prior to leaving for Talladega, Corr made a special visit to Victory Junction in Randleman, N.C. to help donate a purpose-built bus to the camp for chronically-ill children. Corr and his family own a bus company in their hometown in Upstate New York.
"It felt great to give back to Victory Junction and try to help some of the kids at camp," said Corr. "It doesn't take long when you are there to see that Victory Junction is a pretty special place, and I give a lot of credit to the Petty family to making that Camp happen. I'm glad that our family could make this donation."
"We're pretty focused on Friday. We know we have a good car, and that's a lot of credit to 'Grumpy' and the team. We feel we can compete for the win, but we have to be there at the end to make that happen. So, we'll be smart and take our opportunities when they come. It's great to be back at the track and I'm looking forward to Friday evening."
Friday's race will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET.
