Sponsorship uncertain for No. 99

According to Roush Racing president, Geoff Smith, the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford Taurus will likely once again carry a mosaic of sponsors during the 2005 season. Smith says that there could be up to four different sponsors on the Carl Edwards entry. Edwards was asked at Darlington if he knew his 2005 plans, a question he answered with one word -drive. "I don't know if it'll be Trucks, Busch or Cup," Edwards added, "but whatever they want me to drive I'm going to drive it as hard as I can; and get the best result I can." Smith agreed. "We're going to run him hard," said Smith with a grin. Smith is very pleased with the results Edwards is showing so far, and that was before he popped of his seventh place finish at Darlington this week. "He's just so smooth and knows when to let it all hang out. He never fails to impress when he's behind the wheel." Smith did tell TFR that in 2006 he'd have a full sponsorship package for the #99.
