Penske turned down Jack Daniel’s?
Per Speedway Scene's S-Notes, Penske Racing had plans for a 4th full-time Cup team for Travis Kvapil as the driver and Jack Daniel's as the sponsor. However someone within the 'Penske Family' found an issue with alcohol sponsorships, so the full-time 4th team was scrapped. That is leading to the rumors that Kvapil could replace Brendan Gaughan in the No. 77 Kodak Dodge, since it looks like Kvapil doesn't have a full-time gig in 2005 in any series. And while it is widely speculated that Jack Daniel's will go to Richard Childress Racing for the #30 car and driver Dave Blaney, rumor has it that NASCAR may have Jack Daniel's as a NASCAR Sponsor.
