Bulgaria eyes GP race

A Dutch delegation traveled to south Bulgaria at the weekend to meet with 'Sliven' town mayor Yordan Lechkov. They talked about Formula One. It's reported, by the local 'Focus' agency, that a consortium based in the Netherlands 'showed interest' in putting up about 200 million euro to rejuvenate an old circuit and make a bid for Bernie Ecclestone's grand prix circus. Elsewhere, mayor Lechkov said the project may hinge on a local military airport being converted to a civil one. Meanwhile, further meetings for the Bulgarian grand prix project are planned, we can reveal.
