Detroit Grand Prix Qualification results for Race 2

Takuma Sato's smile from Indy continued this morning as he grabbed the pole for the second Detroit Grand Prix race. Ryan Hunter-Reay will start alongside Taku, followed by yesterday's winner Graham Rahal. Helio Castroneves will start 4th, the top-qualifying Chevy.

Carlos Munoz found the wall in the first qualification session, severely limiting qualifying time. The rules for this race is that each group gets 12 minutes, with only 5 minutes of green flag guaranteed. Ryan Hunter-Reay put together one last hot lap after the track was reopened to grab the top spot in that group, second overall.

Once again, the qualification set a new track record for the current configuration of the Detroit Grand Prix.
