The shards of Mikhail Aleshin’s race car pelting Tristan Vautier's so Vautier did something absurd but instinctual. He raised a hand to his visor to protect himself.

“There was lot of debris flying. We’ve seen that can be dangerous," Vautier said. “It was kind of a reflex thing, the debris flying around my head to put my arm in front. I don’t know if that will help a lot, so I just did it in the moment. I guess my instincts told me to protect my head, you know."
