Daytona Xfinity Series Race Postponed Due To Rain

Friday night's Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway has been postponed until Saturday due to rain. NASCAR hopes to resume the race just after noon on Saturday.

Friday night's race began under threatening skies and widespread showers in the area. By the time drivers took the green flag just after 7:30 pm it had already began misting around the facility. After just 11 laps of racing, the skies finally opened up and NASCAR brought the field to pit road.

After a nearly hour-and-a-half rain delay, NASCAR finally pulled the plug, and rescheduled the race to run prior to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero 400, which is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
