Montagny and Kovalainen
Don't be amazed if a second 'Flying Finn' is soon on the grand prix grid. Indeed, Heikki Kovalainen – a part time Renault tester and GP2 driver – will assume Franck Montagny's official 'reserve' moniker at Indianapolis' 19 June grand prix. Montagny will be at Le Mans.
When the Frenchman comes back for his subsequent home grand prix at Magny Cours, though, it could be as a racing driver. Franck fulfilled the 'Friday' role in a Jordan at the Nurburgring, and is thought to be supported by both Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone in ensuring a Frenchman on the French GP grid.
Jordan's Tiago Monteiro, with a smaller sponsorship haul than Narain Karthikeyan, would be the one to move over. GMMF1net
