Firman resets F1 or Champ Car focus

2003 Jordan driver Ralph Firman is hoping to resurrect his failed Formula One race career. The Briton, 29, has touched down in Malaysia to steer a Honda NSX in the Japan GT series — the category that launched his grand prix flirt.

''I was hopeful of securing a race or test role in F1 last season,'' Firman said at Sepang. He told Malaysia's 'The Star' newspaper: ''But I was let down. ''My objective now,'' Ralph added, ''is to … re-establish my career in single seaters for this year and 2006.' He was eyeing Champ Car and that, or GP2, is probably his best bet because F1 would be a real stretch.
