Why drivers want out of the IRL

There are thought to be three reasons why many IRL drivers are looking to bail on the IRL. One is the danger (too many injured drivers), two is the engine manufacturer money that may soon dry up and the third, and some say the biggest reason, is that Danica Patrick gets all the publicity while they play second fiddle even though they are superior drivers. Not only did Indy 500 winner and point leader Dan Wheldon take a backseat to Patrick, when the winner of the last IRL race in Kansas, Tony Kanaan, came into the post-race interview room he had to wait on an media conference being done with Danica Patrick who finished way down in 9th place. Afterward he made some snide remarks about the situation, indicating he wasn't a bit happy at all. Rumor had it that team owner Michael Andretti isn't happy that his drivers and team, who are kicking butt and taking no prisoners, are taking a back seat to the rookie.
