Network TV delivers better rating for Brickyard 400 (Update)

UPDATE The final rating for the Brickyard 400 was 3.4 with 5.63 million viewers tuned in on network TV NBC, up slightly from 2016 which saw a 3.1 rating with 5.21 million viewers. The Xfinity race at Indy on NBCSN received a 1.06 rating with 1.686 million tuned in.

07/24/17 NBC yesterday drew a 3.3 overnight rating for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Brickyard 400 race from Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which was moved to NBC this year and had a nearly two-hour delay at the start due to weather. The Brickyard 400 had its best figure since ESPN drew a 3.4 overnight for the race in ’13. NBCSN last year drew a 2.8 overnight for the race in its normal afternoon slot (up 18%) and over 1 million more viewers were tuned in this year on NBC.

Which goes to show you, if you want your racing series to die from lack of sponsorship, have it broadcast on NBCSN
