Blazing lap gives Urrutia Lights pole

With a lap time of 1:11.369s, Belardi Auto Racing w/SPM driver Santi Urrutia stormed to pole position for tomorrow's Cooper Tires Indy Lights Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio Race #1. It was an impressive effort for the 20-year-old Uruguayan, who lapped the 2.258-mile circuit 0.6589s faster than second-place qualifier Colton Herta. Nico Jamin was second with Shelby Blackstock and Zachary Claman De Melo rounding out the top-five.

Series championship leader Kyle Kaiser was sixth. The green flag for tomorrow's race is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. local time.
