Bourdais hints at big things for Champ Car
Of course this bodes well for Champ Car retaining Bourdais. Although he would like to be in F1, the chances of landing as competitive a ride as he has in Champ Car with Newman/Haas are slim. With Paul Newman as his team co-owner, we suspect he's been given a peek into the future and he likes what he sees. Champ Car still has a long way to go, but there are now definite signs that the foundation is being put in place for the future. Recall our article where we predicted that 2005 would be a foundation building year for Champ Car. We will see a bit more of that in 2006 before 2007 when we will see new cars, new sponsors, better TV, and a schedule that will finally have all the deadwood races removed and exciting new domestic and international venues added.
