Sebastien Bourdais will test his Dale Coyne Racing Honda today at Mid-Ohio with the goal of receiving approval from IndyCar Medical to resume racing late in August at Watkins Glen.

"I wouldn't be getting back in the car if I wasn't ready," the Frenchman told NBCSN. "But it's just a test for now. Everything's looking good. We'll give it a shot Monday. Everybody's here to stay over."

"No," Bourdais said when asked if he was in pain or experiencing discomfort. "I'm feeling really good." Bourdais fractured his pelvis in a heavy crash at Indianapolis in May.

If all goes well at the test, DCR would expand to three cars for Bourdais, his stand-in Esteban Gutierrez and Ed Jones at Watkins and Sonoma Raceway.
