The Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda field for the mid-season event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, has increased to 32 cars with a late entry from Chandler Horton of Zionsville, Indiana. Miller Vinatieri Leguizamon Motorsports confirmed the new driver will join the team Aug. 11-12 to fill its fourth seat.
“I’ve known the Horton family for 25 years from my time spent in Indy Lights and IndyCar," said MVL team-owner Dr. Jack Miller. “I’ve had the privilege to watch Chandler grow throughout his racing career. He will make a great addition to the MVL team."
Horton, 19, is the son of IndyCar Director of Engineering and Safety Jeff Horton. The second-generation driver started racing karts at 13 years old and transitioned into open-wheel cars three years ago.

Mid-Ohio will my first time behind the wheel of an F4 car but I’m confident in my experience and training on the simulator that I can turn good results for the team."
When he’s not racing cars, Horton studies Business Management at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. The college sophomore also competes on Marian’s Division 1 Cycling team.
