Tomy Drissi has chosen to sit out this year's Trans Am Series race at Watkins Glen. The Trans Am Champion cited several factors leading up to the decision.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed," said Tomy. "I love racing at Watkins Glen. But it became the sensible thing to do when we considered all the variables. A situation presented itself where Tony Ave had committed a car to Paul Fix… the Glen is Paul's home track. The other car we would have normally rolled out is currently on the west coast. Greg Pickett has been using the car for the Trans Am West series. I knew this was important to Paul and to Tony, so after considering the situation, the easiest solution for everyone was to turn over the seat to Paul."

"I've been keeping a fairly active schedule this year," added Tomy. "We've been testing in other series and other cars. Having a weekend home with my family is always a welcome opportunity."

Tomy will release a full schedule to close out 2017 in the next few days.

The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli will take to the 3.4 mile natural terrain road course at Watkins Glen International as part of the US Vintage Grand Prix Weekend on Sunday, September 10th at 11:00AM ET for 100 miles/30 laps of racing.
