Sorenson won’t ride in a helicopter again

Ganassi Racing's rookie driver Reed Sorenson was waiting to board one of the two helicopters that crashed at the Homestead helipad after the race. “I was the next one in line to go," he told Chris Economaki. “I saw them hit. One went straight down and the other tried to land in the grass nearby. I took off running because I thought parts were going everywhere." After finishing 28th in a one-off drive for car-owner James Finch, Sorenson said, “After seeing that I don’t think I’ll ever fly in a helicopter again."
