Lowe’s to sponsor Fernandez Racing

UPDATE This rumor is now 'fact' with today's announcement. See Hot News page. 01/04/06 Rumor has it that Home Improvement giant Lowe's will sponsor Fernandez Racing in the Rolex Daytona Prototype Series all year. An announcement is expected by tomorrow.

Rumored drivers are Adrian Fernandez, Mario Haberfeld and Scott Sharp. It will be interesting to see if Lowe's also sponsors the Fernandez team in the IRL. This appears to be the latest in the trend of IRL teams migrating to the Grand-Am Series. Rumor has it that the powerful France family is leveraging their NASCAR might and sending sponsors who want a smaller program, or a 2nd program in addition to NASCAR, over to the IRL.
