Japan team to miss Durban race

A1 Team Japan could miss this weekend's A1 Grand Prix race in South Africa due to a budget shortfall.

Martin Stone, whose Carlin Motorsport team runs the Japanese squad, admitted to autosport.com that they still had to secure the money to race at this weekend's inaugural Durban street race.

"We are still working to secure the funds for Japan," Stone said. "The equipment and the car will be there. Our other teams, Portugal and the Lebanon, will be present and the mechanics have already flown out."
