A reader asks, Dear AutoRacing1.com, Us Champ Car fans are getting restless. When is Champ Car going to start all their positive PR and announcements? The 2006 season is set to start in 6 weeks. No ads yet and only 7 confirmed drivers. They need to get their act together soon and start making some announcements. What are they waiting for? Is it this merger talk that has stalled any planned announcements? The fans need to start getting rev'd up before the season starts. Rod Orlando, FL.

Dear Rod, Champ Car has this new invisible marketing and PR strategy that allows it to operate under the radar screen so its fans don't even know they exist. All kidding aside, as we reported previously, we were told the announcements would ramp up in the month of March and peak in time for the season opener in Long Beach. March is just around the corner so expect to start seeing some announcements. The Atlantic Series Mazda announcement was kept quiet until the day of the announcement and you will see Champ Car announcements handled in a similar manner. Also, while Champ Car has been dormant the Atlantic series has had a lot of buzz. Mark C.
