Briton joins ‘Aguri’ shortlist
(GMMf1NET) Part-time Honda tester James Rossiter is in the running to land the 'Friday' seat at Super Aguri in 2006, according to paddock gossip.
The 22-year-old Briton joins ex Renault test driver Franck Montagny in contention for the ride, a mere fortnight ahead of the season opener at the Bahrain track.
Rookie 'Aguri' racer Yuji Ide, meanwhile, has denied suggestions that he is a typical Japanese pay driver by saying he 'gambled' on his move from Formula Nippon.
''I said no to every offer to stay in Japan,'' 31-year-old Ide, who finished second in the category last year, told Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport.
''I came to Europe without having a contract in my pocket. It could have ended my career.''
