Joest Racing really Champion Racing

Inside sources tell us that although the Audi announcement was that the two new diesel R10 Audi LMP1 cars entered for the 12 Hours of Sebring are Joest entries, in fact Champion team owner Dave Maraj is actually listed as the Entrants Representative for Audi Sport North America for Sebring, and that virtually all of the Champion team that competed last year is credentialed for the effort this year. Far from being shut out, Champion has become the de-facto Audi factory effort, at least for Sebring and until such time as Audi allows the Champion team to have their own R10s. Not sure what the arrangement will be at the 24 Hours of LeMans.
