A new crisis at home of Brit GP
(GMMf1NET) Silverstone's owner, the club 'BRDC', could be facing a major crisis.
Late last month, club members requested a delay in a vote to green light the controversial proposal to redevelop the home of the British grand prix.
In fact, the plans – involving the demolishment of historic circuit corners – have enraged some members, who are seeking a vote of 'no confidence' in the board headed by Jackie Stewart.
''The membership has … given the president and board an emphatic show of unity that they do not want any deal that means granting a 100-years-plus lease to any individual or organization,'' said Harry Stiller, who is leading the BRDC rebellion.
Typically, a vote of 'no confidence' results in a group's resignation or dissolution.
