Weatherman to make Cup debut at Martinsville

Rick Ware Racing, LLC has announced that 20-year-old ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards veteran Kyle Weatherman will make his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driving debut in the First Data 500 at Martinsville Speedway Sunday, Oct. 29.

Weatherman, of Wentzville, Mo., is slated to the drive the #51 Chevrolet.

"I am so excited to get this unbelievable opportunity to make my first start at the NASCAR Cup level," said Weatherman. "I am so thankful for all of the people who have helped me along the way and I am literally shaking. Thanks to Rick Ware for providing me the opportunity and believing and trusting I can do a good job for his team."

Weatherman will also be driving the #51 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet in the Can-Am 500 at Phoenix Raceway Nov. 12.

Weatherman's accomplishments in the ARCA Racing Series are notable with one win at the New Jersey Motorsports Park road course in 2015, the same year he earned the SCOTT Rookie of the Year and Sioux Chief Short Track Challenge championship. Weatherman has 50 career ARCA starts with 25 top-5 finishes, 36 top-10s and 762 laps-led in 21 races overall. Weatherman is also a 5-time General Tire Pole winner..

Weatherman has also competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, IMCA Modifieds (youngest winner in history at age 12), CRA Late Models, ASA Trucks, INEX Legends Cars (2011 Pro Division National Champion), INEX Bandolero's (2009 National Champion), and Karts (past winner of the US Kart Grand Prix).
