Max Verstappen put Red Bull on top of the timesheets in final practice for the Mexican GP Saturday morning, but just, with a lap time of 1m17.113s to narrowly beat Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.

Hamilton was just 0.075s slower at 1m17.188s and you can expect him on pole in qualifying this afternoon when Mercedes turns up the power on their engine.

Sebastian Vettel was just 0.117s off the pace for Ferrari with a time of 1m17.230s.

Bottas and Ricciardo also got within a quarter of a second of the pace and Raikkonen isn't too far back either in sixth. We've got a six-car fight for pole.

‘Best of the rest’ were the Force Indias of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon, who just edged the Renaults of Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg who completed the top ten, with Brendon Hartley a highly impressive 11th for Toro Rosso.

Hartley’s team mate Pierre Gasly failed to set a time after engine problems brought his car to an early halt. The Frenchman is already set for a 15-place grid penalty for using new power unit elements.
