Austin Wayne Self secures full-time NASCAR Truck ride for 2018

Austin Wayne Self will compete full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series next season with Niece Motorsports, the team announced Monday.

Self, 21, has made three starts with the team this season, a small part of the 15-race schedule he has run this year.

“I am very humbled and thankful for this opportunity to drive for Niece Motorsports for 2018, Self said. “I’ve been fortunate to run several races for the organization this season and I’m fired up to think what we accomplish in 23 races next season."

Next season will be Self’s third in the Truck Series. He has one top-five and three top-10 finishes in 37 career starts.

Team owner Al Niece said he is looking forward to competing for the series championship next season.
