Cosworth admit likely loss of Williams

(GMM) Cosworth's commercial director, Bernard Ferguson, has admitted that the independent engine maker is likely to lose Williams as a formula one partner in 2007.

''It looks that way from everything I have read,'' he said at Silverstone, ''and if that is the case then so be it.''

Williams is expected to move to a semi-works arrangement with Toyota, meaning that Midland will be on the lookout for a new supplier.

Red Bull, and its V10-powered junior team Toro Rosso, are also possibilities, but Ferguson confessed that 'nothing is signed' yet.

Meanwhile, speculation insists that Williams' Toyota-Lexus switch could be formalized at either North American race, in Canada and the US.
