CASCAR race a warm-up for NASCAR in Montreal
The CASCAR Super Series is headed for Ile Notre Dame. CASCAR will announce Thursday it will be part of the Camp Car World Series Grand Prix of Montreal, Aug. 25-27 on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The late-model cars will be on the same 4.334-kilometre road course used by Champ Car and Formula One.
Montreal replaces CASCAR's annual appearance at the Toronto Molson Indy.
"That's great," Super Series veteran D.J. Kennington of St. Thomas said last night when told of the Montreal race. "It's nothing but good for us and our sponsors because there should be lots of people." London Free Press
[Editor's Note: NASCAR almost bought CASCAR and still has a close relationship with them. This race will be a test for the NASCAR Busch Series, which are rumored to replace Champ Car in Montreal in 2007.]
