Things looking up in Cleveland

UPDATE This rumor is upgraded to 'fact' today. Race officials announced a major bump in ticket sales for race weekend over last year, and believe the potential for 100,000 in attendance for the weekend to be a strong possibility.

"We have surpassed last year's Sunday ticket sales by 33.4 percent," race General Manager Chuck Kasich said. "We have surpassed Saturday ticket sales by 72 percent," he said.

Overall, those numbers were based on ticket sales through Wednesday, meaning those numbers could rise significantly over the next few days. Cleveland Plain Dealer
