Todt offered new Ferrari contract
07/19/06 (GMM) Jean Todt has received a lucrative offer to stick around as Ferrari's F1 chief beyond the end of 2006, according to press reports.
'Auto Motor Und Sport' in Germany claims that the offer of a one-year contract extension, courtesy of Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, is so attractive that it would be 'difficult to refuse'. Todt's decision to stay, meanwhile, would almost certainly accompany the renewal of Michael Schumacher's similarly-expiring red-colored contract.
In a different German publication, meanwhile – 'Express' – another sign that 37-year-old Schumacher is not done with the sport is that the German is allegedly already involved in plans for Bridgestone's marketing plans for 2007.
A spokesman said: ''All I can say is that Mr. Schumacher is an important advertising medium for Bridgestone.''
Also on Wednesday, fledgling Japanese team Super Aguri rolled out its new 'SA06' car at Silverstone, complete with a revised race livery.
