Stoner to re-sign with Honda
Australian MotoGP star Casey Stoner is set to sign with Honda again next year, rebuffing offers from Yamaha and Ducati. The 20-year-old, who will race in the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island this weekend, said it was virtually certain he would remain with the LCR Honda team in 2007. He is just days away from inking the agreement which has been the focus of both Honda and his team boss Lucio Cecchinello.
"Right where I am now is where I expect to be in 2007," Stoner said.
"It looks like I'll be with the LCR team although I don't know if Honda have any other ideas.
"They are still figuring things out with all their teams – I'm not in a great panic.
"Honda seems reasonably happy with my performances this year.
"They gave us some new parts recently and they have listened to our feedback, which is nice. I'm pretty happy where I am."
